I Would for You

Jane's Addiction - Nothing's Shocking (1988 album)

It’s been a long time since I’ve heard this one. The actual version. The album version. I suppose typically you’d want to listen to the full album then, because that’s the way you’re probably supposed to consume it. But probably not today. Only sharing because it was queued in my Spotify playlist. So just this song, today.

Hearing it made me think of sitting around being about seventeen or eighteen or so. Back in the days of not really having anywhere to go– literally– except back home probably.

I had some vision flash through my eyes of this guy who many of us knew. He used to wear the Robert Smith sort of hair. I never really knew that guy, but everyone insists I did. Wasn’t me, man. They musta been playing this song.

Those were the people of the “gifted crew”. Some of us hung around and wasted time together for years after h/s.

I suppose that’s where I really grew up, in Smithfield, PA. My postal address was Uniontown, PA 15401. The phone number was Fairchance, PA 412-564-9818 (when I was in h/s, before that area was changed to 724-564-9818. I don’t recall ever having that number). Who’s the weirdo who can confirm it?
