For the greater part of my life on this earth, i have been a musician– plain and simple– a guitar player, most likely in the same sense that you envision when you think “guitar player”.

Guitar as part of my life really defined me– in a big way– it really made me who i am. I taught guitar as a private instructor, a gig which i’ve always loved doing, since 1989 “professionally” (pro meaning, it has been my “bread and butter”, so to speak), which inspired me to pursure a degree in Education, and i went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Curriculum & Instruction: Communications / English from Penn State University in 1997.

I’ve been in several bands between then and now. In the 90’s, I had long hair– way too long hair, like Axl Rose or somethin’, and i ate, slept, and breathed being “a guitar player”. My bands have ranged from an Oldies cover band, performing classics from as far back as probably the 40’s with jazzy, saxophone laiden tunes, all the way to a modern-rock cover band playing the likes of Tool, S.O.A.D., Chevelle, etc., and Sona, an original band in the late 90’s, early turn of the Millennium which did some amount of touring in support of a CD.

I have recently compiled a simple little html page with information about sona, the song-writing band, and links to the mp3’s and other media available on-line, including the original music if e-Nation, a sort-of sona spin-off which formed and performed for about 2 years after the separation of sona.

if you visit that page, you’ll find a link to a movie/ slideshow to the soundtrack of Birdsong, a sona original– the little “Flash movie” is a retrospective of the earliest days of the group, depicts us on and off-stage, w/ the band, friends, ex-friends, and the whole nine-yards! be careful to read the instructions on how to get the slideshow to play properly in Firefox. i never claimed to be a master of Flash media, and there is apparently something wrong w/ my code because the object doesn’t play automatically.
(btw– i welcome advice on how to fix that!)

I hope you’ve enjoyed my little “i, guitarist” page. I had to document something here about it, or this site, which is largely a reflection of my personal thoughts and endeavors, would defintely have been incomplete!
